VAL OSBORNE
Val Osborn is known to professionals as a painter's painter dedicated to professional art as a craft.
He is the only Australian artist to produce a full library of broadcast quality videos on art, - acclaimed as the epitome of simplicity by students and professionals alike. His fresh approach to the craft, merely resurrects the basics as taught to apprentices in the studios of the old masters - but the series of 1.5 hr tapes covers the entire spectrum of art and its history.
As an individual artist, he has won many awards and shows but avoids art competitons preferring to exhibit in one man shows.
He has taught professionally for 35 years in TAFE, Tech Colleges and in private seminares and is best remembered for his historial realist series of Australian pioneers.
He is an accomplished draftsperson and paints in all styles and mediums with equal dexterity.
At present he lives at Sarina, Central Queensland, is married to Ruth Osborn, fibre artist with a family of four children, all adult artists to date. He as available for seminars and as a Art Judge and for restoration work.
