SafeTALK in schools Brekky Wrap

Grapevine held a major presentation of the need for SafeTALK in our region’s high schools. Every high school principal and guidance officer in the region was invited to attend our breakfast. Guests speakers were the National Manager of LivingWorks Brenton Tanish and Sandi Winner of Headspace Mackay. The breakfast was a huge success with 5 high schools signing up within first week of the program.

Grapevine estimates that 1200 year twelve students will be presented SafeTALK in 2016 and has trained 8 local SafeTALK presenters for the purpose of the SafeTALK in Schools program.

Headspace Mackay Campaign

The Headspace Mackay petition was presented to parliament by George Christensen MP with just over 4000 signatures collected within a month. The amount of support for a Headspace Centre for our region attracted tremendous response.

Thank you to all the helpers out there who gave up their time to collect names on the page. And all the work paid off! Mackay was granted a headspace centre which is now providing vital services and essential programs to Mackay’s youth.
