What we do

1. Our WEBSITE has a concise list of local suicide support resources for the Mackay District to be able to find assistance for themselves or for friends & family they are concerned about
2. We distribute this vital list on HELP-A-MATE DISTRICT SUICIDE SUPPORT RESOURCE CARDS to Mackay & at local events Link to card gallery
3. We present SUICIDE PREVENTION TRAINING for the general public
4. We fundraise to provide FREE SUICIDE AWARENESS WORKSHOPS to local coaches, captains and sports volunteers through our HELP-A-MATE GRAPEVINE SPORTS CHALLENGE
5. We fundraise to train more Grapevine Volunteers to become LIVINGWORKS PRESENTERS with safeTALK or ASIST qualifications
6. We promote the need for more PUBLICTY of our local resources and the need for more suicide prevention and intervention trainers and training in the district through the media, our facebook site and enewsletters
7. We distribute the latest Mental Health and Suicide MEDIA GUIDELINES to local media and the resource sector to encourage more publicity about the issue of suicide and the resources available
8. WE HAVE FUN AND RAISE FUNDS by "Having a ball... and making a difference!"
