Come along and help us out to sponsor sports volunteers through suicide alertness training
GO ON THE VOLUNTEER ROSTER & HELP US OUT...
Grapevine Group will be distributing hundreds of Support Cards and collecting donations and we are asking volunteers to help us on the day. 1 in 17 people will consider suicide this year… Help a Mate and keep a support card in your wallet.
The teams have organised a fundraiser for Grapevine and are playing a 3 match series for the "Hills Radiator/Woollams Construction Pride of Milton Street Trophy".
Funds raised from the games will go towards training local sports volunteers through Grapevine's SafeTALK suicide alertness workshios. The training will give participants skills to identify people at risk of self-harm and co-ordinate them to the appropriate resources. Costs $50 a participant.
Grapevine Support Cards contain a vital list of district suicide intervention resources and help us to build awareness for our website which has contact details and information for people facing crisis themselves or a friend or family member they care about. We want to get everyone going through the gate a card to help themselves or HELP A MATE!
Grapevine Volunteers will also be wandering through the crowd with collection buckets. Later we will help out Lifeline volunteers by selling their glowsticks and stubby coolers for them which will promote the Lifeline Crisis Line.
We're hoping that helpers would be able to give a couple hours of their time.
